Wageni Karibuni Kenya

This is my first Swahili blogpost. It is a poem that calls on visitors to come, visit and embrace the beauty, diversity, culture, history and wildlife of my great country, Kenya.

Kenya ni nchi nzuri kweli,
Yajulikana kote duniani
Amani, Upendo na Umoja,
Nyote mwakaribishwa
Tusherehekee kwa pamoja ,
Uzuri wa nchi yetu

Wanyama, Ndege nayo mimea,
Tunayo kwa aina mbalimbali
Ndovu, Twiga nao Nyumbu,
Tausi hata na Heroe
Wageni Karibuni Kenya
Mpate raha isiyo kifani

Bonde la ufa, tembea pwani,
Maasai Mara, Tsavo na Impala
Majumba ya kihistoria
Fort Jesus na mengineyo
Karibu ziwa Victoria,
Kisiwani kule Rusinga
Karibu uone mwenyewe,
Chimbuko la historia

Kila Pembe ya nchi yetu
Kunayo mapya ya kujifunza
Wamaasai, nao wadawida,
Turkana fika usome
Mila zetu tulizohifadhi
Kwa manufaa yetu sote
Mikono yetu iko tayari,
Kuwapokea wageni wetu
Tuwapeleke kotekote
Mfurahikie mandhari yetu
‘tawafunza jambio bwana,
Kenya hakuna matata
Wageni Karibuni Kenya,
Muuonje ukarimu wetu
