FIVE LESSONS FROM SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE
Many young people want to be successful in life, and it is the dream of many, to be in control of businesses that control the economies of their countries.
In my interaction with some of the people considered powerful or successful by our society, I have outlined five key things that may determine your success, as an entrepreneur or a professional
1. Risking is normal
Risk taking is part and parcel of the day- to- day operations of people we consider successful.
It's the lessons they learn from taking the risks that help propel them to a higher success level daily.
Most of these people make lots of mistakes but always endeavor not to repeat a mistake, unlike other people who may venture into a business, take risks once, and once profits don't add up, they wind up the business altogether.
The people we consider successful tend to be a little patient with their business and take time before making major decisions in their businesses.
Experience from friends inform me that every business and profession has its own challenges that make it unique and adventurers.
The business you choose to venture in should as well have the potential of growth and expansion.
2. Every time is accounted for.
Time is money and no business person is ready to spend lots of time doing nothing.
Despite the tough work schedule most of these people have, majority are still able to run and manage other business(side-hustles).
The value you attach to time plays a great role in shaping the progress and success of your life.
3.Every cent is accounted for.
Uneven and unplanned spending are not part of their life.
This is so because according to the majority I interact with, the moment you start spending without planning is the ultimate time you start going down the success curve.
If possible, have an emergency account to take care of your emergencies as and when they occur.
4. Family time is Family time.
These people consider family moments a time to interact with family and mostly preserve the time for their kids and spouses.
Family time remains crucial to them because they need to bond and create ties with their loved ones.
In my view, being a VIP CEO or an MD who has no command over his family adds no value to you despite the respect you earn at your workplace.
Its better you command respect from family first, ( for family will always be there, but works and contracts end), then try to command the respect at your place of work.
5. Keep friends who add value.
Friends who cannot challenge you to develop should have no place within your circles for they add no value to you or your business.
At the same time, it's important to have a large friendship base for the purpose of networking and creating a large client base for your organization/business.
